Dr. Yvette Camacho is a historian of the Spanish colonial period in the Philippines. She earned her doctoral degree in History at the University of Navarra in Spain, and her master’s degree in Liberal Arts from the same university. She graduated from the University of the Philippines Diliman with a bachelor’s degree in Humanities (Interdisciplinary track), magna cum laude.
Most of her publications focus on the institutional history of women’s education, the Filipino feminine ethos from a historical perspective, and the introduction of Christian marriage in its legal, sociocultural, and ecclesiastical dimensions. Her current project continues to explore the sociocultural and economic aspects of women’s lives during the Spanish period in Philippine history.
Aside from her teaching and research activities, she has occupied academic administrative posts in the University. At present, as Vice President of Faculty Affairs, she pursues projects to cultivate teaching and research excellence in UA&P.
