Carmi Esclanda is a data scientist experienced in planning and decision analytics focused on the public sector. She teaches data visualization and mining at the University of Asia and the Pacific. She has provided technical expertise in executing analytics for the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and currently serves under the Central Bank of the Philippines, leading big data initiatives for macroeconomic monitoring and alternative index generation. She volunteers as a Mentor with the For the Women Foundation, supporting women in developing analytics use cases. In 2021, she was recognized as the best data storyteller by the Asian Development Bank by sharing an analysis on connectivity, inclusivity, and gender parity in the pandemic era. Her team was also recognized recently for developing a customer opinion mapping for bank intelligence during the Bank for International Settlements – Innovation Hub Hackathon in Singapore.

Aurora “Boots” C. Estrada teaches Personal Development Series (PDS): Self-Awareness/Self Discovery at the UA&P School of Management and is the PDS mentor coordinator for the female Entrepreneurial Management students. She holds a degree in Education from the University of Stockholm, Sweden and a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Santo Tomas. She is a certified coach by Leadership in Motion (LIM), a certified teacher of Ikebana, and is a watercolor painter.

Before joining the academe, Boots managed a bookstore in Stockholm and later became part of the management staff of a university center in Quezon City.  She participated in conferences on home management in London and in Rome. She gives seminars on mentoring and training in housekeeping to hotel and restaurant staff in and outside of Metro Manila. She has written a cookbook with a planned menu. 

Ken holds an Agribusiness Economics degree from the University of the Philippines. He completed his master’s degree in Applied Business Analytics at the University of Asia and the Pacific as part of the pioneer batch. Ken designs processes and systems for Jollibee Foods Corporation (Chowking Philippines) and is focused on data-driven organization management, insight development and innovation, and data storytelling. 

Greg Mabbagu is the program coordinator of the Entrepreneurial Management (EM) Program of the School of Management (SMN). He holds a Master of Science in Industrial Economics degree (magna cum laude) and an undergraduate degree in Industrial Economics from UA&P.

As a research/business consultant, he is engaged with local and international clients in the sectors of electronics, international trade, e-commerce, hospitality, labor, real estate, agri-business, energy, banking and finance, and food industry, among others. He helped in the establishment of the first food bank in the Philippines, Philippine Foodbank Foundation Inc., drafting the concept paper and setting the initial meetings.

Greg is also a subject expert consultant for K12 Basic Education Program in the field of accountancy and business management (ABM). He serves as a mentor and thesis adviser to graduate students of SMN and the School of Economics of UA&P. He also writes business case studies.

Steffi Manhit has over 35 years of professional managerial and human resource training and development experience. She holds a PhD in Curriculum Studies, a master’s degree in Education, and an AB Economics degree from the University of the Philippines Diliman. She obtained her Diploma on Strategic Human Resource Development from the Ateneo de Manila University.

She also has 20 years of experience as academic faculty and mentor at UA&P, teaching Human Resource Management, Human Behavior in Organization, Organization Development, Workplace Learning and Performance, Applied Research, and Management Research Seminar in the undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate programs. She is the Research Cluster Head of the School of Management and a regular resource person for UA&P’s South East Asia Business Studies (SEABS), facilitating workshops for corporate clients.

Dr. Manhit is an accredited trainer of Quality Circles Program, Positive Discipline, Systematic Managerial Analysis Program, and Analytical Tools for Supervisors Program.

Dr. Ruel V. Maningas is currently the Program Director of the Master in Applied Business Analytics (MABA) Program and a full-time professor at the University of Asia and the Pacific. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Innovatus, the official journal of the UA&P School of Sciences and Engineering, and of the SMN Digest, the official journal of the UA&P School of Management.

Dr. Maningas is a professor, strategist, professional speaker, and capability building specialist in the fields of information systems and technology, knowledge management, strategic management, business sustainability, development project planning, management economics, and business analytics, serving public and private institutions in the past 30 years. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Extension Education with minor in Computer Science (as government science and technology scholar) and Master in Management major in Development Management degrees from the University of the Philippines Los Baños in 1995 and 2003, respectively. He earned his Bachelor of Arts major in Economics degree from Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba in 1987.

Sherwin Pelayo is the Executive Director of the Analytics Association of the Philippines (AAP), the country’s National Industry Board for Analytics and Artificial Intelligence. He leads AAP’s nationwide programs in, among others, education, labor market research, and policies and standards, in support of AAP’s mission of building a healthy and vibrant Philippine analytics and artificial intelligence sector through the forging of relations of trust with the government, academic and learning institutions, and the private sector.

Sherwin is a lecturer at the School of Management and the School of Sciences and Engineering of UA&P. He is also an independent consultant focusing on analytics and experience design. It is in the intersection of these two where Sherwin finds his passion—connecting the science of analytics and the art of human-centered design not only to bring data-inspired, user-driven solutions for organizations but also to deliver greater, more impactful social innovation for the Philippines.

Kristine San Juan-Nable is the Program Director of the Master of Science in Management program and the Bachelor of Science in Management program of UA&P. She is a PhD candidate in Business at the De La Salle University and holds a Master of Science in Management degree from UA&P. She attended the International Faculty Program (IFP) at the IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain and finished a course in supply chain in Yokohama, Japan.

For almost 20 years, Kristine has taught undergraduate and graduate classes in Management Research, Introduction to Management, Marketing Management, Marketing Research, Industry and Regional Market Analysis, Case Writing and Analysis, and Strategic Thinking and Management. She also does market research projects for government agencies and various companies in different industries.

Dr. Eli Santos is the Program Director of the Entrepreneurial Management Program of the UA&P School of Management (SMN) and the Vice Chair of the Operations Committee of SMN.

He holds a PhD in Organization Development from the Southeast Asia Interdisciplinary Development Institute (SAIDI), an MBA from the De La Salle University, and a BS in Management from the Ateneo de Manila University.

He is an accomplished CEO with over 30 years of industry experience in consumer, pharmaceutical and health care sales, and marketing and distribution operations in the Southeast Asian region. He is an experienced organization development consultant, New Business Ventures (NBV) coach to aspiring young entrepreneurs/SMEs, and practitioner in the areas of entrepreneurial leadership, route to market strategies, and organizational improvement programs. He is currently Director of the Center for Executive Management Services at OTI Philippines Inc.
